DUSHANBE, March 27, Asia-Plus – An exercise with participation of regional administrators from the southern province of Khatlon began at the Fakhrobod training ground on March 27, Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for the Minister of Defense (MoD).
The main purpose of the exercise that will last until March 29 is in rehearsing the organization of territorial security.
The exercise will close with a final phase featuring live-fire missions with armored personnel carriers, tanks and combat helicopters, Mahmadaliyev noted.
The First Deputy Defense Minister also Head of the General Staff of Tajikistan’s Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Ramil Nadyrov, is in overall command of the ongoing war game.
Similar exercises with participation of regional administrators will be conducted in other provinces as well, Mahmadaliyev said.
