DUSHANBE, October 8, 2008, Asia-Plus — The state unitary enterprise, Muboriza Bar Ziddi Malakh (locust control), has received 1.1 million somoni’s worth of additional equipment for combating locust infestations, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).
Eight tractors MTZ-82.1, two trucks UAZ, 660 hand pesticide-sprayers, 14 tents and 50 working clothes that had previously belonged to the MoA plant-protection enterprise were handed over to the locust-control enterprise.
Next year, the equipment will be distributed to the regions that may be affected by possible locust infestations.
According to the MoA, the locust-control enterprise now has 17 tractors MTZ-82.1, two trucks UAZ, and six pesticide-sprayers OVH-28.
