According to the Speedtest Global Index for March 2026, Tajikistan ranked 117th among 153 countries worldwide in terms of fixed (wired) internet speed, climbing four positions compared to the previous month.

The average download speed was 45.10 Mbps, and the upload speed was 38.30 Mbps.

This is the country’s best performance in the past five years.

The most challenging period was 2023: the download speed fell to a minimum of 26.84 Mbps, and the ranking dropped to 133rd place.

Since 2024, there has been a steady increase: over two years, the speed increased, and the ranking improved by 16 positions.

Meanwhile, for almost a year now, there has been no data on mobile internet speed in the Speedtest Global Index.

Among Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan leads at 75th place (93.35 Mbps on average). It is followed by Kazakhstan at 86th place (88.10 Mbps) and Kyrgyzstan at 87th place (87.14 Mbps). Turkmenistan is not represented in the ranking.

The global leader in fixed internet speed in March 2026 is Singapore, with a median download speed of 425.46 Mbps. The UAE follows with 384.51 Mbps, and Hong Kong with 352.40 Mbps.

Despite the positive trend in the ranking, many residents of the country still complain about low internet speed, especially mobile.

The Speedtest figures reflect average indicators, which do not always match users’ real experiences, especially in the regions.
