Tajikistan receives nearly $10 million in humanitarian aid in first four months of 2026

The main donors were the USA, China, and the Republic of Korea.

Tajikistan received humanitarian aid worth $9.6 million between January and April 2026, the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan reports citing the Customs Service under the government of Tajikistan.

The total volume of humanitarian assistance delivered to the country during the reporting period amounted to 787.4 tons.

Humanitarian aid was provided by 25 countries from both the near and far abroad.

The United States was the largest donor in monetary terms, contributing approximately $1.64 million. China and South Korea each provided around $1.6 million in assistance.

Other major donors included the Netherlands, which supplied nearly $1 million in aid, India with about $958,000, and Russia with approximately $938,000.

Together, these six countries — the United States, China, South Korea, the Netherlands, India, and Russia — accounted for more than 80% of all humanitarian aid received by Tajikistan during the first four months of the year.

For comparison, Tajikistan’s total imports in January–April 2026 amounted to $3.08 billion. Humanitarian aid therefore represented approximately 0.31% of the country’s total imports during the period.
