DUSHANBE, October 7, 2008, Asia-Plus — Tajik parliamentarians have worked out a credit history bill, which is based on recommendations from the International Finance  Corporation (IFC), the International Fund (IMF), the European Bank for Development and Reconstruction (EBRD) and the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), Tajik MP Ismoil Talbakov remarked at seminar on working out the credit information system that was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on September 25.

According to him, while working out the bill, they have taken into consideration experiences of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan in this field.

Credit history or credit report is a record of an individual”s or company”s past borrowing and repaying, including information about late payments and bankruptcy.

According to Tojiyev, MPs Ismoil Talbakov, Safarali Gulov and Nourali Rizoyev represented Tajikistan in the seminar.

During its stay in Bishkek, the Tajik delegation also held a number of meetings.  The, in particular,  Colin Avel Wesley Raymond, Adviser to IFC for Organization of the Credit Information System in Eastern Europe, Klaus Dieter Braun, Regional Representative of the German Credit Bureau SHUFA, and Akzhol Elebesova, Director of Kyrgyzstan’s Credit Bureau Ishenim.  In the course of the talks, the sides exchanged views and experiences on the credit information system.
