DUSHANBE, October 7, 2008, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon will attend sessions of the Council of the CIS Heads of State and the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) that will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on October 9 and 10, according to presidential press service.
Development of transport communication will be a major topic of the session of the council of the CIS heads of states. The CIS heads of state are also expected to discuss energy cooperation in 2009.
The EAEC interstate council that will meet on October 10 is expected to consider issues related to further economic integration and interaction to overcome the world financial crisis, the press service said.
During his stay in Bishkek, president Rahmon is scheduled to hold a number of multilateral and bilateral talks with his CIS counterparts.
