DUSHANBE, September 30, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev has sacked the head of the state unitary enterprise Bus-1 Iso Asoyev and reprimanded the head of Dushanbe’s municipal waterworks (Dushanbevodokanal or DVK) Azam Tabarov for failing to properly organize activities of their enterprises.

An enlarged meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, presided over by Ubaidulloyev, was held on September 29.  Preparations for winter months and present sanitary and epidemiologic situation in the city were among major topics of the meeting.   

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that the Bus-1 head was sacked for shortcomings in work of the passenger transport service.  He was replaced by Firdavs Saidov, formerly head of the state unitary enterprise Trolleybus.      

The DVK head was reprimanded for ignoring complaints lodged by the city residents and following the results of inspection carried out by the Dushanbe prosecutor’s office.  Tabarov was warned that more strict measures would be taken against him if he fails implement his duties in the future.  

The first Deputy Mayor, Abdusattor Sualymonov, reported on the progress of preparation of Dushanbe’s economy for autumn-winter 2008-2009.
