An expert from New York is participating in the high level International Conference on Water Cooperation in Dushanbe.
Hillary Kramer, Wall Street columnist, who is also an expert for Bloomberg, Reuters, CNBC, CNN and Fox News, told journalists in Dushanbe that implementation of Raghoun dam construction project is not only important for Tajikistan, but for all the countries of the region. The expert from New York is participating in the high level International Conference on Water Cooperation in the Tajik capital.
Ms. Kramer is certain that energy development in Tajikistan can put an end to unemployment, while a large number of the working-age population is working in Russia and other countries.
She added: “Labor migration has a big influence on the Tajik economy and it is the reason for separation of families, rupture of relations in your country, and the importance to solve this and other problems related to electro energy deficit need to be understood by neighbor countries. It is necessary to develop your country’s economy, but it is impossible without electricity development.”
She beliefs that it is necessary to carry out hydro energy projects, which will certainly give development to the region, for stability of the Central Asian region and support of security.
Ms. Kramer is an author of materials published in the US publications on Raghoun dam. One of her last works, supporting Raghoun project published on the Huffington Post website was titled “Tajikistan’s Raghoun Dam to be the Big Game-Changer”. The news portal is considered as one of the most visited websites in the world.
