Speaking at the joint session, the Speaker of lower chamber, Shukourjan Zuhourov, said that the institute of presidentialism in Tajikistan has proved itself.
He expressed hope that the upcoming presidential elections will be free, transparent and democratic.
The Head of Khatlan Province, member of upper chamber of Parliament, Ghaybullah Afzalov, called on all political parties to observe legal norms of the Republic during the election process.
Lower chamber vice-speaker, Nazira Ghaffarova, expressed confidence that the Tajik people will elect a worthy president.
She believes that by electing President Emamali Rahman in 2006, the people did not make a mistake.
According to Senator Qabilamah Ghulamshaeva, Mr. Rahman fulfilled all his campaign promises made to the people in 2006.
Member of lower chamber of Parliament, Leader of the Islamic Revival Party, Muhiddin Kabiri, is sure that the upcoming elections will be held within the frame of the law.
He said: “There will be disagreements, debates, criticisms, but observing the law is important.”
Mr. Kabiri called on holding the presidential elections in such a way that tomorrow politicians could look into each other’s eyes without shame.
It should be noted that 6 November is Constitution Day in Tajikistan, which is a public holiday.
