DUSHANBE, October 3, 2013 Asia-Plus – On Thursday October 3, President Emomali Rahmon paid a working trip to the Vahdat Township, some 17 kilometers east of Dushanbe.

According to the president’s official website, the purpose of the visit was for the president to get acquainted with socioeconomic life of the area and inaugurate a number of social and cultural facilities.

While in Vahdat, the president participated in ceremonies of opening of a new five-storey residential building and the Palace of Knowledge as well as groundbreaking ceremonies to kick off construction of a number of new facilities.

He also visited the lyceum for talented children named after Balami in Vahdat, the website said.

President Rahmon today also attended the simultaneous wedding ceremony for 10 couples from vulnerable families in Vahdat.
