DUSHANBE, September 7, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The University of Central Asia (UCA) and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (LKYSPP) are pleased to announce the second year of their partnership to develop a cadre of Central Asian scholars in the field of public policy, press release issued by UCA said.

UCA’s Central Asian Faculty Development Program (CAFDP) is designed to ensure that scholars from Central Asia with top international academic credentials are strongly represented in the University’s faculty.  CAFDP is now accepting applications for the UCA-LKYSPP Master’s and Doctoral Scholarships in Public Policy.

This program provides full scholarships for Central Asian students in LKYSPP’s Public Policy Master’s (MPP) and Doctoral (PhD) programs.  Graduates sponsored under this program will be considered for academic appointments in UCA’s Graduate School of Development and/or undergraduate School of Arts and Sciences.  Students completing their Master’s level will be encouraged to continue their studies in the Doctoral program at LKYSPP.

The selection of students for LKYSPP’s programs is based solely on merit and subject to LKYSPP’s admission criteria.  Applicants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are strongly encouraged to apply.
