KHUJAND, September 5, 2008, Asia-Plus — An official opening of a Palace of Culture “Aryana” was held in Istaravshan, Sughd province on September 5.
This cultural-educational center, built due to $200,000 provided by French entrepreneur of Iranian origin Mr. Sasanfar, is the donation on occasion of the 1150 birthday anniversary of founder of Tajik-Persian classical literature Abu Abdullo Roudaki.
Mr. Masoud Mirshahi, chairman of Roudaki Association in Paris, Sughd governor Qohir Rasoulzoda and others attended the center-opening ceremony.
The same day, a 7-meter statue to Abu Abdullo Roudaki, designed by Tajik sculptor Davron Rahmatov, was unveiled in Istaravshan.
