KHUJAND, August 29, 2008, Asia-Plus  — More than 7 kilograms of heroin were sized by officers from the Sughd counternarcotics directorate in Khujand on Thursday.  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the source at the Sughd counternarcotics directorate said that their officers stooped a car Opel-Vectra in Khujand on August 28.  Five packages containing narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 7.429 kilograms were confiscated from one of passengers, who provide to be resident of Khatlon’s Danghara district.

 Operation carried out by drug control officers led to the arrest of alleged drug peddler’s buddy in the Khatlon province.  Operation to detect other members of this drug-trafficking ring is under way.
