KHOROG, August 27, 2008, Asia-Plus — Additional measures taken by Pamir Energy Company (PamirEnergy) have led to a 42 million cubic meters increase in water levels at Yashilkul Lake, according to PamirEnergy.
The source at the company said that they had removed the additional dam that had been built during the construction of the main dam. This dam was built in 2005 for regulation of water coming to units of the hydroelectric power plant Pamir-1 during the winter-spring season.
According the source, the volume of waters at Yashilkul Lake has reached some 200 million cubic meters to date, which is enough for three units of Pamir-1 station operating in full capacity from December 2008 to April 2009.
