DUSHANBE, August 21, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A seminar to discuss a progress of implementation of the public management system reform strategy opened at the Center for Strategic Studies in Dushanbe today.

The event has brought together some 20 representatives of all ministries and organizations to discuss progress of implementation the public management system reforms as well as the poverty reduction strategy.

Speaking at the meeting, Anvar Najmiddinov, a specialist with the economy department within President’s Executive Office, noted that the results of last year’s monitoring have shown that the present pace of implementation of the public management system reform strategy is unsatisfactory.  “One of reasons for such situation is lack of enough informational background for conducting proper monitoring, collecting and processing data,” Najmiddinov said.

During the seminar, it was also noted that to provide an efficient implementation of the strategy national council for development will be set up.  The council members will include high-ranking state officials.

It is also planned to conduct similar seminars for different segments of society – media, civil society, etc.
