KULOB, August 21, 2008, Asia-Plus — Over the first seven months of this year, 557 new cases of TB have been detected in Khatlon’s Kulob region, which is 9 cases more than in the same period of last year, according to the Kulob center for sanitary and epidemiologic supervision.
The most serious situation is in Kulob, Vose and Hamadoni districts. “Over the report period, 168 new cases of tuberculosis have been registered in Kulob, 143 in Vose and 53 in Hamadoni,” the source said.
According to him, the fact that the disease has been detected in all ten districts of the Kulob region evokes serious concern of specialists.
