QURGHON TEPPA, August 18, 2008, Asia-Plus — Farmers from Khatlon’s Shahritus district have yielded 1,000 tons of cotton so far.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Kholmahmad Rahmonov, chairman of the Shahritus district, said that the district plans to fulfill this year’s cotton target that has been determined at 13,500 tons of raw cotton.
According to him, Shahritus farmers have planted cotton on an area of 6,200 hectares this year.
