DUSHANBE, August 12, 2008, Asia-Plus — Last week, officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA) conducted a series of trainings for customs officers from the crossings Nizhny Panj in Qumsangir and Khoshadi in Shahritus.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Major Alisher Tashrifov, an official with the counternarcotics agency, said that the customs officers had been trained in detecting precursors and telling them from ordinary chemical substances.
“In the course of the trainings, the customs officers were informed of types of precursors that could be transported to Afghanistan via Tajikistan and their differences from ordinary chemical substances,” Tashrifov said.
According to him, the subject literature and visual aids have been distributed to the training participants.
