DUSHANBE, August 12, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Preparations for autumn-winter 2008-2009 were discussed at an August 11 meeting of representatives of president’s office and relevant ministries and organizations, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, according to presidential press service.    

Minister of Energy and Industries Gul Sherali and Chairman of Barqi Tojik Power Holding Sharifkhon Samiyev reported on a progress of work carried out to ensure regular of the country’s economy during the winter months.  

During the meeting, it was noted that the country had produced more than 75,000 tons of coal this year so far and opened 970 outlets for realization of it.  Since the beginning of this year, local entrepreneurs have delivered some 17,000 tons of liquefied gas, which is 7,000 tons more than in the same period of last year.     

Speaking at the meeting, the president pointed to the necessity of increasing the number of outlets for realization of coal and liquefied gas and speeding up the work on rehabilitation of the Dushanbe and Yovon rehabilitation stations.
