DUSHANBE, July 16, 2008, Asia-Plus — China has become the main foreign political partner for Tajikistan, Abdunabi Sattorzoda, the head of the department for foreign political relations within the Center for Strategic Studies, remarked at a press conference in Dushanbe on July 15.
He added that the Russian Federation remains one of strategic partners of Tajikistan and cooperation with it is considered, as before, efficient.
“However, compared to Russia China has become more active, especially since last year,” Sattorzoda said, noting that Tajikistan continues adhering the “open-door foreign policy.”
