DUSHANBE, August 30, 2014, Asia-Plus – President’s brother-in-law has been appointed deputy head of Tajik power holding, Barqi Tojik.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, President Emomali Rahmon introduced a number of staff changes at an August 30 government session.
Amonullo Sadulloyev, formerly head of the Electricity Sales Department at Barqi Tojik, was appointed deputy head of Barqi Tojik.
Amonullo Sadulloyev is brother of Hasan Asadullozoda, who is Chairman of the Board of Orienbonk, and brother-in-law of President Emomali Rahmon (brother of president’s wife).
Barqi Tojik is the state-owned utility responsible for generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Tajikistan. The Government plans to unbundle Barqi Tojik and create an enabling environment for private sector investment in the power sector. The main objectives of this project are to create three independent structures by unbundling Barqi Tojik: generation, transmission and distribution.
Besides, Mr. Nasib Karimov was appointed to head the Unit for Implementation of the Creation of
Sustainability to Climate Change in the Panj River Basin Project, Mr. Ismonqul Shoqulov was appointed Executive Director of the Unit for Implementation of the Road Rehabilitation Projects, and Ms. Umeda Vohidova was appointed to head to the Unit for Implementation of the School Construction and Rehabilitation Projects.
The government session also endorsed compositions of boards of the Customs Service, the Special Property Maintenance Agency, and the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection.
