DUSHANBE, July 10, 2008, Asia-Plus  — This year, Tajik universities will reduce acceptance of students to postal tuition (tuition by correspondence) departments  by 30 percent, the Minister of Education Abdujabbor Rahmonov remarked at a press conference in Dushanbe on July 10. 

Thereby, the number of freshmen in Tajik universities will reduce from 27,000 in 2007 to 22,193, the minister said.    

Twenty-eight higher educational institutions with totaling 146,219 students now function in the country.
