KULOB, July 3, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Kulob’s department for visas and registration has resumed issuing passports for foreign travel.

As it had been reported earlier, they stopped issuing foreign passports in March due to lack of blank passports.  By March 12, 1,750 Kulob residents wanting to leave to Russia for seasonal work have not been able to get foreign passports.

Major Abughaffor Fattoyev, chief of Kulob migration service, told Asia-Plus today that they recently received enough blank passports and there will be no problems now with issuing foreign passports.

According to him, they have already issued some 1,000 foreign passports over the past several days.
