KHUJAND, June 19, Asia-Plus  — Fire has destroyed a school building in Sughd’s Ghonchi district.

According to the Sughd emergency management agency, the fire broke out in the chemical lab at school # 1 in the Ghonchi district Wednesday afternoon, at around 12:30 and then spread rapidly through the school building. 

“The school was destroyed by the fire in an hour,” said the Sughd emergencies official.  “Local people who rushed to put out the fire managed to save only three computers,”   

The school, built in 1937 already, had 24 studies and classrooms as well library.  It had computer class with 16 computers and printers.  810 pupils studied at school # 1 in Ghonchi.
