DUSHANBE, January 13, 2015, Asia-Plus — An overall space of 1.1 million square meters in residential buildings was made available in Tajikistan during 2014, which is 14 percent more than in 2013, according to the Agency for Construction and Architecture under the Government of Tajikistan.

Residential buildings in the country were reportedly constructed mainly by entities of the non-governmental sector.

Besides, general educational schools to accommodate 14,000 pupils and preschool institutions to accommodate 1,200 children have been put into operation, and several polyclinics that can handle 665 visits per shift were introduced during the past year.

“To-date, municipal redevelopment plans of 30 cities and districts administrative centers have been worked out,” an official source at the Agency for Construction and Architecture told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the work on devising municipal redevelopment plans for the city of Tursunzoda and the administrative centers of the districts of Mastchoh, Bobojonghafourov and Zafarobod is under way.
