DUSHANBE, June 18, Asia-Plus  — Participants of an unauthorized gathering in Khorog have dispersed; however the demonstration organizers have warned to return if their demands are not fulfilled.   

According to Asia-Plus’ reporter in Khorog, the rally that started at around 9:00 a.m. lasted till 1:30 p.m.  

An official with the GBAO police directorate told Asia-Plus that before leaving the square in front of the building of the GBAO regional government in Khorog, the demonstration organizers warned to return in three days if their demands regarding withdrawal of additional troops that allegedly pose threat to the population security from the region are not fulfilled.   

The source noted that no cases of violation of public order had been reported during the rally.  He further added that all organizers of the rally had been revealed and they will be penalized under administrative law. 

As it had been reported earlier, some 300 people gathered near the building of the GBAO regional government in Khorog today morning, at around 9:00 a.m.  According to the rally organizers,  people have allegedly demonstrated against bringing additional troops into region.
