DUSHANBE, June 12, Asia-Plus – Authorities of GBAO’s Vanj district have households in the remote village of Vanvani Poyon connected to the electricity mains.
Speaking in an interview with Pamir Media, Naghzibek Nazribekov of Pamir Energy Company (PamirEnergy) said that Vanvani Poyon is the remotest village in the Vanj district and is the only village in the region that had had not electricity so far.
According to him, residents of the village of Vanvani Bolo got access to electricity last year due to cooperation between PamirEnergy and Aga Khan Foundation’s Mountain Societies Development Support Program (MSDSP). This year’s cooperation with MSDSP has facilitated connecting Vanvani to electricity mains, Nazribekov said.
