DUSHANBE, February 26, 2015, Asia-Plus – Afghanistan’s independent news agency, Pajhok Afghan News, reports Tajik security forces have handed over the body of Afghan smuggler, who was killed on the Tajik border, to Afghan law enforcement authorities.

Three smugglers attempted to illegally cross into Tajik territory but Tajik border guards opened fire at them and one of the trespassers was killed, Sunatullah Temour, a spokesman for the Takhar province governor, told Pajhok Afghan News.

According to him, 80 kilograms of raw opium and two Kalashnikov assault rifles were found on the spot.

Pajhok Afghan News reports 10 Afghan smugglers have been killed on the Afghan-Tajik border since the beginning of this year.
