Some 40 women’s NGOs signed the treaty today.
The main objective of the treaty is to strengthen contribution of public associations to fulfillment of recommendations of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and promotion of gender equality in the country.
Speaking at the treaty-signing ceremony, Ms Qimmatgul Aliberdiyeva, the deputy chairperson of the Committee for Family and Women’s Affairs, noted that the establishment of such a collation is of great significance for Tajikistan and this initiative should be supported by other organizations as well.
