DUSHANBE, May 22, Asia-Plus — A session of the council of the CIS heads of government will be held in Minsk, Belarus tomorrow. A Tajik delegation participating at the session is headed by Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, presidential press service said.
21 issues have been tabled to the session’s agenda, and most of them deal with interaction among the CIS member nations in economic and financial spheres, social policy and fight against crime. The key issue on the agenda is the implementation of the commission given by the council of the CIS heads of state on October 5, 2007 and the council of the CIS heads of government in November 2007 to develop the strategy of the CIS economic development.
The session is also expected to consider proposals regarding concerted transport policy and joint measures to increase food security of the CIS member nations.
Besides, the meeting will also discuss a draft plan of actions to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. A number of documents will be considered in this respect. Among them is the document on amending the agreement on mutual recognition of travel privileges for the participants of the Great Patriotic War.
The CIS heads of government will also consider a draft resolution on improving efficiency of work of he Interstate TV Company Mir, draft protocol on making amendments to the agreement on exhibition-fair activity of May 26, 1995, draft agreement on cooperation in training personnel for hydrometeorology, etc.
For Tajikistan, one of the key issues will be the convention and legal status of labor migrants and their families in the CIS member nations, the source said.
