CHKALOVSK, May 6, Asia-Plus  — The Chkalovsk jewelry plant in the Sughd province intends to triple production of gold and silver wares due to extending manufacturing areas, the plant director Musallam Rasoulova said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to her, renovation of a number of plant’s workshops is nearing completion and they will allow increasing not only the volume of production of jewelry but also extending range of goods.  “The plant currently produces little more than 100 items of goods,” Rasoulova said, adding that renovated workshops will create up to 300 new jobs for local residents.

“Until recently, practically all the jewelries were being realized on domestic market,” said Ms. Rasoulova.  “We now have large foreign customer – one of commercial firms in Israel, and it is planned that that some 90 percent of our goods will be exported to that country.”

Besides, the plant will produce not only gold and silver jewelry in national traditions but also plate, men’s accessories (cuff links and tie clips), and office supplies.

She noted that all goods will be produced from domestic raw materials.
