DUSHANBE, April 30, Asia-Plus — Ukraine’s Ukrvazhmash Ltd has expressed readiness to participate in implementation of a number of energy projects in Tajikistan, according to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).
The source at a MoEI said that the Ukrainian company’s intentions are stated in a memorandum of cooperation that was signed in Kiev, Ukraine on April 21.
According to him, Ukrvazhmash expressed readiness to participate in projects aimed at constructing small, medium-sized and large hydropower plants as well as modernizing the active power plants.
Besides, the Ukrainian company will also consider the possibility of participation in constructing new and rehabilitating active heat and power stations as well as building a new cement plant in Tajikistan.
Ukrvazhmash also agreed to participate in launching joint ventures on production of complete units and optional equipments for small power plants as well as production of pylons for power grids in Tajikistan, the source said.
He added that working groups had been set up to prepare draft agreements on the mentioned issues. The facilities will be constructed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, according to him.
All these documents will be considered at a session of the Tajik-Ukrainian economic commission that will be held in Dushanbe from May 15-16.
Ukrvazhmash Ltd is privately owned enterprise of Ukrainian national foreign economic corporation Vazhmashimpex and of foreign daughter enterprise Noris – Ukraine. By its status and material security, it is able to involve foreign and domestic capital in its activity.
A particular feature of Ukrvazhmash Ltd activities is the solution of the following tasks: increase of output export of Ukrainian producers by the means of participation in international tenders for the complex supply of compound technical production and services: machine-building for metallurgy industry; supply and assembling of metal constructions; mining engineering; machine-building for oil-and-gas sector; power machine building; pumping and compressor equipment; transport machine-building; materials handling equipment; road construction mechanical engineering; machine-tool construction; and chemical engineering.
The company also participates in modernization and building of turn-key industrial projects abroad and promotes Ukrainian output and assertion of Ukrainian producers’ interests in external market, where the building and modernization of power industry projects are being held,
