Dushanbe. 4 September. “Asia Plus” — The process of preparing documents for a tender to select subcontractors of building the Tajik section of the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China is continuing. This was reported by the joint Tajik-Chinese enterprise «Trans-Tajik Gas Pipeline Company Ltd», which is engaged in the construction and operation of Tajik section of the pipeline.
“All the works are going on according the plan – said the source. – Currently we are engaged in the preparation of tender documentation, after which it will be submitted to the Commission”.
All the works on the selection of sub-contractors for the realization of the project in Tajikistan is planned to complete before the end of this year. Note that previously was announced an open tender for selection of sub-contractors of the project.
According to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, the applications for participation in tender for selection of sub-contractors were received from numerous companies, among which there are also domestic enterprises.
“In particular, the applications were from Chinese and Russian companies. We would like Tajik companies to participate in the implementation of this major project, which involves the expenditure of $3.2 billion. At least in that part of the work, which does not require a high level of engineering work”, – said before the Minister of Energy and Water Resources Usmonali Usmonzoda to journalists.
He explained that the plan to choose subcontractors, who will be involved in wiring pipes, constructing the linear part of the pipeline, constructing the necessary buildings, including the building of compressor units and so on.
The intergovernmental agreement on the construction of a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China on the territory of Tajikistan was held in September 2013. In March 2014 was signed an agreement between the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and JSC “Tajiktransgas” on a joint venture to build and operate a gas pipeline Trans-Tajik Gas Pipeline Company Ltd. The ceremony of the beginning of construction on Tajik section was held in September last year.
At the moment the continuing the work on construction of tunnels, after that will be the wiring of the pipe itself. Then will begin the construction of the linear part of the pipeline, uniting compressor stations in a single gas transmission system for the transmission of gas from the gas fields to gas consumers.
On the territory of Tajikistan the route will pass through the border of Uzbekistan and Tursunzade Hissar, Shahrinav, Rudaki, Vahdat, Faizabad, Nurabad, Rasht, Tojikobod and Jirgatal – to the border of Kyrgyzstan. The length of the gas pipeline on the territory of Tajikistan will be more than 400 km.
It is expected that though this gas pipeline every year from Turkmenistan to China will be delivered 25-30 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
