DUSHANBE, April 10, Asia-Plus  — Presents have sent to Jaloliddin Tursunov, the 101-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 living in the Tursunzoda district, on behalf of President Emomali Rahmon on occasion of the 63 rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which is marked on May 9.    

Ms. Matlouba Boboyeva, the deputy mayor of Tursunzoda district, told Asia-Plus that food products, medicine as well TV set and DVD had been delivered to the veteran.  

According to her, local authorities will support that president’s initiative in future as well, providing assistance to veterans and invalids of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and the spouses of the servicemen who died in that war.   

114 veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 currently live in Tursunzoda, the deputy mayor said.
