DUSHANBE, April 9, Asia-Plus  – Realization of meat and meat products was a focus of an April 8 meeting with participation of the Dushanbe entrepreneurs presided over by Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that the meeting participants also included heads of Dushanbe’s districts, members of the Dushanbe legislature, local police, sanitary-epidemiological and veterinary services, as well as heads of the city organizations of political parties functioning in Dushanbe.

Speaking at the meeting, the mayor expressed serious concern about rising prices of some basic food products, including meat, on the city markets and heard proposals on ways to solve the price hike problem.

During the meeting, it was recommended that the meat prices on all Dushanbe markets should not be higher than 16 somonis for one kilogram of beef and 18 somonis for one kilogram of mutton, the spokesman said.

The mayor also recommended to set the highest price for a 50-kilogram of grade 1 wheat flour at 115 somonis.

The city customs services are to provide all necessary conditions for import of meat and meat products and regularly monitor essential goods imports, Saidov said.
