Nansmit selects participants for seminar for journalists on trade unions issues

DUSHANBE, March 27, Asia-Plus  — With support of the Finnish Foundation for Media, Communication and Development (Vikes), the National Association of Independent Media of Tajikistan (Nansmit) has announced selection of participants for a seminal formally titled “On Prospects of Establishment of Journalists’ Trade Unions in Tajikistan.”

monitoring service coordinator, said that the seminar is expected to be held in Tajik capital in the second half of April. 


 


According to him, the objective of seminar to discuss issues related to establishing trade unions at Tajikistan’s media communities. 


 “Only journalists who have worked no less than five years with media may apply for participation in the seminar,” said Vohidov.  “The seminar participants will be competitively selected.”   

The Finnish Foundation for Media, Communication and Development (Vikes) was set up by 26 Finnish communications entities in 2005. It is a foundation for development cooperation, intended to promote freedom of expression and the pluralism of media as a basis for democracy and social development.  VIKES was established on the initiative of the Union of Journalists in Finland, and brings together the whole Finnish journalistic profession.
