KULOB, March 18, Asia-Plus – Farmers in Khatlon’s Kulob district have launched a cotton-sowing campaign.
Abdullo Rajabov, a leading specialist with the Kulob agriculture directorate told Asia-Plus that the cotton-sowing campaign “was officially launched on 300 hectares of farmland in the Sabz Farm today.”
According to him, farmers in the Vose district have completed plowing of 10,540 hectares allotted for cotton in the district, and the plowing campaign in the districts of Danghara, Kulob and Hamadoni is also nearing completion.
In all, five cotton-growing districts of the Kulob region in Khatlon will plant cotton on totaling 41,390 hectares and they plan to yield not less than 79,000 tons of raw cotton this year, the leading specialist said.
