“Molodyozhny” movie heater reopens in Tajik capital

            DUSHANBE, March 14, Asia-Plus  — An inauguration ceremony the Project for the Improvement of the Cultural Facility under the Youth Public Organization “Nasimi Kuhsor”, implemented under the Grant Assistance of the Government of Japan for Cultural Grassroots Project was held in Dushanbe on March 14. 

Mr. Hiroshi Takahashi, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Dushanbe, and Mr. Maliksho Nematov, Chairman of the Committee for Youth, Sport and Tourism Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan attended the ceremony, Ms. Roziya Qirghizbekova, Cultural and Economic Affairs Assistant, Embassy of Japan, 

The “Molodyozhny” Movie Theater of the Committee for Youth, Sport and Tourism Affairs is one of the few movie theaters in Dushanbe, which makes up the cultural entertainment places in the capital.  For the past years the activity of the movie theater was constrained by the absence of adequate technical base and deteriorated roof as a result of which the theater was incapable to work on its full potential.

            With the aim of enhancing the conditions of the movie hall and by such, provide opportunity to present various motion pictures, organize seminars, conferences and other cultural events for the public, the Government of Japan made a decision to allocate US$84,578 for the purpose of implementing rehabilitation works and purchase of equipment in the framework of the Project for the Improvement of Cultural Facility under the Youth Public Organization “Nasimi Kuhsor”.

            On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of the project and further strengthening cultural ties between the two countries, the Embassy of Japan organizes cultural events at the facility, rehabilitated under the Project and on March 14-16 is presenting world popular Japanese animation movies to the Tajik audience as well as conducting the seminar on Japanese traditional art of ikebana, origami as well as demonstration of traditional Japanese clothing on March 16-19.
