DUSHANBE, April 15, 2016, Asia-Plus – Six large industrial enterprises will be introduced into operation in Tajikistan this year, Qodir Qosim, Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), said while addressing the session of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament today.
According to him, 1.56 billion U.S. dollars, both budgetary funds and investments, have been spent for construction of those enterprises that will create approximately 20,000 new jobs.
GosKomInvest head noted that Tajikistan last year attracted more than 977.8 million U.S. dollars, including 470 million U.S. dollars in foreign direct investments (FDIs), which was 93.5 million U.S. dollars or 24.8 percent more than in 2014.
Investments have gone mainly to mining, agrarian, construction and education sectors, Qosim said.
