DUSHANBE, May 16, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has paid an official visit to the State of Kuwait, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
On May 15, President Rahmon was received by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
According to Kuwait media sources, the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held official talks with visiting President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at Bayan Palace, in presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, several senior Kuwaiti officials and the Tajik president”s accompanying delegation were present in the talks.
During the talks, both sides reportedly discussed bilateral relations between both countries and friendly peoples, and ways of promoting and developing them in various fields for the common interests of both countries.
The talks were held in a friendly atmosphere that reflected understanding, friendship and willingness to promote existing cooperation in all fields, according to Kuwait’s Al-Diwan Al-Amiri.
The Tajik president’s official website reports that the two sides, in particular, discussed expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, strengthening of investment ties, as well as joint participation in implementation of energy, transport and infrastructure development projects in Tajikistan.
They also exchanged views on expansion inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
The Tajik side noted that Tajikistan is interested in attraction of investments from Kuwait.
The two sides also discussed a number of regional and international issues being of mutual interest.
According to Kuwait media outlets, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Sunday received at his residence in Bayan Palace Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
On the same day, President Emomali Rahmon reportedly met with Amiri Diwan Advisor Dr.Abdullah Matouq Al-Matouq and representatives of charitable societies in Kuwait.
On Sunday, President Emomali Rahmon also received at his residence in Bayan Palace His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
