Tajikistan, Kuwait sign six cooperation documents

DUSHANBE, May 16, 2016, Asia-Plus — A series of joint agreements were signed between Tajikistan and Kuwait yesterday in Kuwait City in the presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on joint political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries was signed.  Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Aslov and First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah signed the MoU.

An agreement on security cooperation was signed by Chairman of the State Committee for National Secuirty of Tajikistan Saymumin Yatimov and Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

A MoU on education and scientific research was signed by Tajik Minister of Education Nouriddin Said and Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education of Kuwait Dr. Bader Al-Essa.

Similarly, Tajik Minister of Transport Sherali Ganjalzoda and Kuwaiti Minister of Communications and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Essa Ahmad Al-Kandari signed an agreement on aerial transportation between Tajikistan and Kuwait.

An agreement on agricultural cooperation was also signed by Tajik Minister of Agriculture Mahmadtoir Zokirov and Kuwait Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Omair.

A MoU was also signed between Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and the Government of Tajikistan.  Director General of KFAED Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Bader and Tajik Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nematullo Hikmatullozoda signed the MoU.
