DUSHANBE, June 7, 2016, Asia-Plus — Saudi Arabia is expected to finance construction of a new parliamentary complex in Dushanbe.
“The new parliamentary complex will be built in the territory located between the intersection of the Tehron Street and the Roudaki Avenue and the intersection of the Roudaki Avenue and the Shotemur Street,” a source at the Dushanbe municipal government told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, the buildings of the parliament, the ministry of agriculture, Dushanbe mayor’s office, Iranian embassy and apartment buildings with an arch will be demolished.
The issue of financing the construction of the new parliamentary complex in Dushanbe was discussed here on May 25 at a meeting of Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament) Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, who is also mayor of Dushanbe, with visiting Chairman of Majlis ash-Shura (Consultative Assembly) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh.
