GBAO resident detained in Shuroobod with 4 kg of raw opium

KULOB, Febraury 28, Asia-Plus  — On Thursday Febraury 27, resident of GBAO’s Darvoz district Anvarshoh Shoimardonov was detained in Khatlon’s Shuroobod district with 4.5 kilograms  of raw opium, Asia-Plus has learned at the Kulob police directorate.  

The source at the Kulob police directorate said that Shoimardonov had been trying to transport the narcotics to Dushanbe.  Criminal proceedings have been instituted against and an investigation is under way.       

“It is already the third case when residents of Gorno Badakhshan are detained in Shuroobod with drugs; in all, some 11 kilograms of drugs were confiscated from them,” the source said.
