            KHUJAND, February 27, Asia-Plus  — Another resident of the Sughd province has been detained on suspicion of being member of the outlawed religious extremist Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, according to the Sughd police directorate.  

The source at the Sughd police directorate said that the resident of the Bobojonghafurov district Inomjon Fayziyev was detained on February 23 on suspicion of being member of Hizb ut-Tahrir.              “Fayziyev’s involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization has been established during investigation of case of another resident of the Bobojonghafurov district Majid Urunboyev”, the source said.  

Fayziyev faces charge of calls for violent overthrow of the government.     

In all, five residents of northern Tajikistan have been detained since the beginning of this year on suspicion of being members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir party.
