DUSHANBE, July 26, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has shaken up a number of law enforcement and defense officials.

By president’s decree Abdurakim Zarifzoda has been appointed first deputy director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.

Besides, chief prosecutors of the cities of Kulob and Istaravshan and the district of Shahrinav have been replaced.

Chiefs of police departments in the city of Khorog, Shugnan, Ishakshim and Vanj district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), as well as in the districts of Nourobod, Roghun, Shahrinav, Jaihun, Muminobod, Temourmalik and Nosir Khusrav have also been replaced.

Chief of the police station in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district has also been replaced.

Besides, staff changes have reportedly been introduced in the Ministry of Defense.  Heads of some of the ministry departments and commanders of a number of military units have been replaced.  

According to the president’s official website, Rahmon received the newly-appointed law enforcement and defense officials on July 26.
