DUSHANBE, February 19, Asia-Plus  — Officers from the Khatlon counternarcotics directorate have intercepted a large amount of narcotics in Khatlon’s Vose district, according to the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA).

The source at a DCA said that an operation carried out by officers from the Khatlon counternarcotics directorate in Vose on February 17 led to the seizure of a sack of narcotic drug that tested positive to cannabis weighing more than eight kilograms.   

The drug narcotic was found in a car belonging resident of Khatlon’s Hamadoni district.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking and an investigation is under way.
