President hands over keys to new apartments to police officers

Date:

President Emomali Rahmon has handed over keys to new apartments to a number of police officers on the occasion of their professional holiday, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

On the occasion of Police Day, which is marked in Tajikistan on November 10, President Rahmon today attended a ceremony of an official opening of a new apartment building built for the Interior Ministry officers.

8.126 million somoni have reportedly been spent for construction of the residential building, which has one- and two-room apartments.

Today, the president also attended a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of one more apartment building for police officers.

In Tajikistan, law enforcement is primarily the responsibility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which controls the police force.  It is split up into multiple departments, each led by an officer, including the Tajik Internal Troops.
