DUSHANBE, January 4, Asia-Plus — Tajik Journalists’ Union has announced contest for the Abulqosim Lohouti Awards 2008.
Poulod Nourov, executive secretary of the Tajik Journalists’ Union, said that the Union session that was held last month considered and approved the contest regulations.
According to him, the steering committee made a number of changes to the regulations. “This year, nominees will compete in three categories: print media, electronic media; and journalistic scientific-educational researches,” said Nourov, “Besides, only members of the Tajik Journalists’ Union members may participate in the contest.”
The deadline for handing in applications is February 10.
Established in 1967, the Abulqosim Lohouti Award is given for significant contributions in the area of journalism
