DUSHANBE, December 27, Asia-Plus  — Wednesday’s fire in a head building of Tajik Medical University was focus of today’s government meeting presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, presidential press service said.

The meeting participants included representatives from a number of ministries and organizations as well as president’s office.   

The president heard reports of relevant bodies about the fire, cause and effects of it, and demanded that the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) should investigate the cause of the fire.   

Administration of the Ministry of Health (MoH) is tasked to use other buildings and take adequate measure to ensure normal education process for students at Medical University.   

A special government commission led by Prime Minister Oqil Qilov is to control coordination and implementation of efforts to remove the fire effects and restore the university’s building.   

Heads of relevant structures are to organize thorough construction examination of framework of the damaged building and enlist the services of the best construction companies to restore the building by August 2008.   

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) and the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES) are to provide support manpower to carry out restoration work.
