A man from the Roudaki district being in a state of drunkenness has beaten his 11-year-old nephew to death, according to the Interior Ministry’s website. 

The tragedy reportedly took place on September 12.  The 30-year-old resident of the Rohati jamoat being in a state of drunkenness severely beat his 11-year-old nephew, who was on a visit to his 78-year-old grandfather.  The boy sustained multiple serious injuries and died on the spot.

The man has previous convictions for hooliganism (Article 230 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code) and evading parental duties (Article 177).

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against him and an investigation is under way.
